Introducing Our Spring Collaboration with Artist Brigid Corcoran

At Alperstein Designs, we love collaborating with talented local artists and this Spring, we are thrilled to expand our collection with the vibrant and dynamic work of Brigid Corcoran. A mixed media artist from Ballarat, Victoria, Brigid’s art is a celebration of Australia’s breathtaking landscapes, capturing the beauty, vibrancy, and sensory delights of both its urban and rural environments.

Brigid Corcoran: A Passion for Colour and Texture

Brigid describes herself as being “addicted to all things colour and texture.” Her work combines paper collage, stencilling, spray painting, and acrylic painting, creating layered compositions full of depth and movement. Brigid’s art isn’t just a reflection of what she sees; it’s her interpretation of Australia – a place where nature’s beauty often contrasts with its ruggedness.

“I’m constantly inspired by Australia’s landscapes,” Brigid shares. “I love creating my own interpretation of Australia with beautiful, sometimes harsh, explosions of colour and vibrancy. The thumping energy of the bush, the birds, the native grasses, and epic vistas all fuel my creativity.”

Brigid also incorporates fashion magazine cuttings into her artwork, layering interesting textures with her vibrant color palette. This adds a playful, contemporary touch to her pieces, making them stand out with personality and charm.
