Visiting Warlukurlangu Artists This Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week runs 27 May to 3 June. This year's theme is All In.
We're heading to Central Australia to visit Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, one of the art centres we've worked with for many years and a place we're always genuinely glad to get back to.
Warlukurlangu Artists is based across two remote Warlpiri communities, Yuendumu, about 300 kilometres northwest of Alice Springs, and Nyirripi, a further 170 kilometres to the southwest. The art centre has been operating since 1985 and is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists. The name Warlukurlangu means belonging to fire in Warlpiri, named for a fire dreaming site west of Yuendumu.
The art centre is renowned for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings, bold, joyful work that has been exhibited nationally and internationally for decades. Its artists are represented in major collections across Australia and around the world.
What strikes us every time we visit is how much is happening. Artists working, community members coming and going, the art centre humming with activity. We'll share more properly when we're back. In the meantime, to learn more about Warlukurlangu Artists and Reconciliation Week, head to their websites at:

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We also acknowledge the Warlpiri people of Yuendumu and Nyirripi on whose country we will be visiting.
National Reconciliation Week 2026 runs 27 May to 3 June. This year's theme All In was developed by Reconciliation Australia.
